Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 1:30 pm by President Joe Maniaci.

Officers Present

In Attendance: Joe Maniaci (President), Vicky Shipman (Vice President), Sandy Birkenshaw (Treasurer), Melissa Listenbee (Secretary), Kristen Sieloff (Trustee)

Excused: Jennifer Czeiszperger (Trustee), Heather Schroeder (Past President)

Minutes

The minutes from the April 9, 2024, meeting at the Gazebo was approved with the first motion from Kristen Sieloff and it was seconded by Mark Bernabei.  Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report

Sandy Birkenshaw presented the Treasurer’s Report.  The first motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made by Andrew Hale and seconded by Michele Tobeler-Cantalupo.  Motion passed.

Balances

General Fund: $2,151.84                                                                                                        Educational Fund: $6,188.74                                                                                                           Total: $8,340.58

Education Update

We have two upcoming classes scheduled;

August 28th, 2024: MISD David Rice for 6-Hrs Continued Ed (Office Bldgs.)

September 10th, 2024: MISD for 8-Hrs Continued Ed (Legal Descriptions)

*Please remember that at least half of the required 16 credit hrs. must be “live in person” sessions and the remainder can be remote or on-line classes.

Guest Speaker

Our guest speaker was Jennifer Walker, Macomb County Deputy Register of Deeds.  She was introduced by Anthony Forlini, Macomb County Clerk.  Jennifer discussed the project they have been working on for the last two years regarding deed track indexing.  It was asked by Kristen Sieloff if it would be helpful to link personal property to the real property parcel number.

New Business / Old Business

-Golf outing had a great turn out!

-Our next meeting will be in October, date and location – tbd.  Kristen Sieloff will be our speaker at this meeting discussing the equalization study. 

-Discussed Christmas party and had a few ideas for location.

-Discussed ways to save money for the association by maybe bringing 50/50 back or raising lunch prices to $25 to cover food and gratuity.

-The audit for Macomb County is on the horizon.

Adjournment

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by President Joe Maniaci that was first and seconded by Andrew Hale and Kristen Sieloff at 2:00pm.
